Rigid Heddle Weaving for Beginners

This is a great way to be introduced to weaving - the materials, tools and loom are inepensive and easy to use. It's fast and fun also!! Adults Only!

Attend 4 Thursday 1 to 4 pm - starting October 6

Materials needed: Looms, tools, and some yarn provided - Yarn costs will be discussed in the first class

Beginner Large Loom Weaving

Be introduced to weaving on a 4 shaft loom. Learn vocabulary, yarn calculations and loom-related tools. Create a one-yard table runner, two placemats or one pillow cover. You will learn a sampling of weaves. This class meets for 8 weeks. Tools are available for use at the Weavery. Yarn is provided for first project. This is an excellent beginner class and a useful refresher for experienced weavers. Adults Only

Attend 6 Wednesdays - starting Oct 5, 2016 This is a very comprehensive class and may be extended to 8 weeks.

Materials needed: your eye glasses, if needed for close work, and enthusiasm

Narrow Band Weaving

Using an Inkle Loom, students will learn to weave a narrow bands to make either a belt or a pet collar. All needed tools are available for use and yarn and hardware provided for the first project. No prior weaving experience is needed. Adults and youth 7th grade and above.

Weave and Wear a SCARF

No experience needed!! Give weaving a try!! Make a scarf in just 4 hours on a rigid heddle loom already set up for you! Walk up to this simple loom, pick up a shuttle, and start weaving! Wear it home! Adults and Teens (min. age 12)

Any Tuesday or Sunday afternoon in Nov. or December. 1 to 5 pm

Open Weavery

This is free time without structured instruction. What is in it for you? Mentoring, ideas from other weavers, assistance acquiring new skills, time to assemble or repair a loom (with knowledgeable help), a warm cup of tea, and dedicated time away from the your people and other obligations that prevent you from finding weaving time.

What is in it for me? Your ideas, companionship, your interesting color combinations, and a new fiber friend. $15/hr or $100/month - call for specifics. Adults

Materials needed: Students must bring: your weaving project or challenge and your loom

Cost: $15.00/hr

Hanson Weavery Class Policy

Enrollment in a class or workshop is not final until payment is received in full. Enrollees who exceed class maximum, usually 6, will be offered refund or first chance enrollment in another class. Certain classes will have a non-refundable deposit required. Classes that do not achieve minimum number of pre-enrolled students, usually 2 or 3 - depending on the class, will be cancelled.

Classes may be postponed due to weather. The studio will make every effort to contact students by phone or e-mail in sufficient time to minimize inconvenience, if a class is postponed. Students should also try to contact the studio by phone or e-mail. Students will be notified of the alternate date. Students are expected to be punctual, complete assignments, and bring required tools or supplies. Inability to attend a class or session for non weather-related cause does not warrant a refund or a make-up session. Students should coordinate needed absences with instructor in advance.

No refund will be given for withdrawal after the class (or the first session) has been held.
